In ww 2 the first atomic bombs were droped on Japan. they were called the Fat man and the little boy. They were teasted in the New Mexico desert untill they were able to work with no problems. When Henry Truman found out about the bombs he had the choice of invading Japan or he could bomb it. He chose to bomb Japan. Messages were sent to Japan telling them to surender or they would drop the bombs. Japan refused to surender.
Why drop the bombs:
We had to drop the bombs because it was drop the bombs or invade Japan killing American and Japanes soldiers.
Henry Truman decided to drop the bombs but not on any city he wanted them only droped on millitary bases so
few civilians would be killed.
Little boy:
The first bomb droped on August 6th 1945 on Hiroshima.
Droped by a B-29 bomber .
Weighed 9,000 pounds.
It detonated an 1,800 feet and fired one shot of uranium in to another pice witch colided with another mass making a nuclear reaction.
Its explosive fource of 20,000 pounds of TNT.
Fat man:
The second bomb ( the fat man) was droped on August 9th 1945, it was droped on Nagasaki. It was carred by a B-29 bomber.
It weighed 10,000 pounds and was droped from an altatude of 1,800 feet.
It had over 20,000 pounds of exlplosives.
It was an implosion type bomb with plutonium surounded by TNT so it would have powerfull inward pressure to make the plutonium exlplode and creat a devistating nuckuler exlploshin.
After the bombing:
The two bombs caused about 200,000 deaths over time.
They flatened the two cities.
After Fat man was droped Japan decided to surrender so we would not bomb them again.
